ChordVault Privacy Policy

ChordVault (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the ChordVault mobile application (“App”).
- Email Address – Used to create and manage your account. We retain your email address for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your email address and associated data are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
- Password – Securely stored using industry-standard hashing and never accessible in plain text.
- Profile Picture (optional) – If you upload a profile picture, it is stored securely and is permanently deleted if you delete your account.
Note: All information collected, including your email, password, and profile picture, is linked to your account and used solely for app functionality, including authentication, content access, and syncing across devices.
We use your information only to:
- Create and maintain your user account.
- Authenticate users and provide secure access
- Sync app data across devices
- Provide customer support when requested
3. Data Storage & Security
- User data is securely stored and synced using cloud services (AWS)
- All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in readable form.
4. App Content
- All song and chord content available in ChordVault is added and managed by the application administrator.
- Users cannot add song lyrics or song content.
- ChordVault does not host or distribute copyrighted audio recordings or official song lyrics.
5. Third-Party Services
- ChordVault does not use third-party advertising, tracking technologies, or analytics for advertising purposes.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- We may disclose information only if required by law or legal process.
7. Data Retention
- We retain personal data (such as your email address and profile picture) only as long as your account is active.
- If you delete your account, all associated personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it for a longer period.
8. Your Rights
- You may request to delete your account and associated data at any time.

- Once we receive your request, your personal data (including email address and profile picture) will be permanently deleted within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it.
9. Children’s Privacy
- ChordVault is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate action to remove such information.
